The Macau General Union of Neighbourhood Associations (UGAMM) and Enjoy-town Investment Management (Hangzhou) Company Limited co-launched yesterday a digital platform for community-led initiatives, providing both Macau residents and business operators with community economic services based on public welfare services provided by the association.
The association is commonly known as Kai Fong, its Cantonese name.
UGAMM President Chan Ka Leong said during a press conference at the Bank of China (BOC) Building in Nam Van yesterday that the platform was dedicated to providing digital community economic services for Macau’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and residents, aiming to offer local SMEs with an additional marketing method and thus providing better services and goods for residents and tourists.
Chan said that the launch of the platform not only marks the entry into a new era of digital community economic services, but also symbolises his association’s determination of keeping pace with the times and firmly moving towards the direction of smart communities.
On the platform, according to Chan, functions including stories around old shops and charity plans, as well as recommendations for food and other goods are available.
Xu Xiaowei, executive chairman of Enjoy-town, briefed the press conference attendees, including Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong, about the platform, pointing out that the platform has gathered high-quality business resources to offer more convenient services and affordable discounts, as well as products, providing them with more business opportunities and increasing their development spaces.
Bank of China (Macau) Limited works with the platform by providing BOC SmartPay payment service.
