The Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) said in a recent statement that its video series entitled “’Cidade do Nome de Deus’ - Macao’s Catholic World Heritage” has surpassed 500,000 views as of December 15.
“Cidade do Nome de Deus” is Portuguese for “City of the Name of God”.
First streamed on July 7 this year, the video series presented in Cantonese shows Specialist Guide for Macao World Heritage Sites and Macao Catholic Pilgrimage Service Association Executive Director Anna Leong (李梁潤琼) leading virtual guided tours through local Catholic World Heritage sites, the statement noted. Macau’s 400-year-old Catholic history and its integration with local culture are presented by the series.
The video series comprises eight episodes, all with Chinese and English subtitles, that introduce one Catholic World Heritage site each: Ruínas de S. Paulo (Ruins of Saint Paul’s); Igreja de Santo Agostinho (St. Augustine’s Church); Igreja de São Domingos (St. Dominic’s Church); Igreja de São Lourenço (St. Lawrence’s Church); Igreja do Seminário de São José (St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church); Igreja da Sé Catedral (Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady); Capelinha de Nossa Senhora da Guia (Chapel of Our Lady of Guia); and Igreja de Santo António (St. Anthony’s Church).
ACCM, the statement said, has released a free print brochure that includes a QR code of each episode and their introductions to celebrate the recent 500K milestone. The videos and more details can be found on: https://www.macaucca.org/cidadedonomededeu.
