The Judiciary Police (PJ) received a report from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) on Sunday stating that earlier that day a non-local man committed suicide by hanging himself in a hotel room in Cotai, the Judiciary Police said in a statement.
According to the statement, the deceased returned to his hotel room alone on Saturday night and did not leave thereafter. When the hotel staff entered the room to clean it on Sunday, they discovered that he had hanged himself in the bathroom, prompting them to report the case to the police.
After examining the body, no other suspicious injuries were found, and no suicide note was discovered. The statement said that a post-mortem examination will be performed.
Meanwhile, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chong Kam Lon said in another statement yesterday that a male corpse was found in a flat of a residential building in Fai Chi Kei. The deceased was a middle-aged local male.
