UPM, IFTM & UM to host their Open Days

The Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) and the University of Macau (UM), are respectively slated to host their Open Day events this Saturday and Sunday, and on January 14, according to separate statements from each tertiary education institution yesterday.

MPU will hold its Open Day on its main campus in Zape this Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to its statement, with the event set to include a briefing session on its degree courses, themed exhibitions, campus guided tours, workshops, and a graduates’ sharing session. The one-day event will also have an on-site application for the university’s degree courses for the next academic year of 2024/25. IFTM’s 2024 Open Day this Sunday is slated to take place on its Mong-Ha campus, and will feature sharing sessions and workshops, among other activities, as well as a tour of its campus led by its student ambassadors, according to the IFTM statement.  Booths will also provide programme and admission information for secondary school graduates, as well as offer on-the-spot programme registration.

Meanwhile, the UM Open Day will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on January 14, to be held in both Macau and Hengqin for the first time. Members of the public in Macau and elsewhere in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will be able to visit the local UM campus and the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute (ZUMRI) in Hengqin on the same day, the UM statement noted.

The one-day event themed “Connecting Macao and Hengqin” will feature activities such as admission consultations, sporting activities and science experiments, along with a tour of faculties and residential colleges, the UM statement said.
