The Health Bureau (SSM) announced in a statement yesterday that its mobile blood donation vehicle, which normally provides services every Tuesday afternoon, will also operate this afternoon and next Monday afternoon.
According to the website of the bureau’s Blood Transfusion Centre, the vehicle, which provides services between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. every Tuesday, is parked at different locations in different weeks. On the first Tuesday of every month, it provides services outside Luso International Bank Building and the Macau Square commercial building on Rua do Dr Pedro José Lobo in Nam Van, while on the second Tuesday it is parked outside Flower City Garden in Taipa.
On the third Tuesday, the vehicle provides services outside Fai Chi Kei Health Centre, while on the fourth Tuesday it is parked outside the Government Service Centre in Areia Preta, according to the website.
The website points out that the mobile blood donation vehicle does not operate on a Tuesday if it is a public holiday.
The Health Bureau’s Blood Transfusion Centre is located on the second floor of Hotline Centre in Nape. The blood donation centre operates one blood donation vehicle.
Yesterday’s statement said that with the aim of increasing blood collection that can then better ensure blood supply, the mobile blood donation vehicle will “provisionally” provide services at two other locations, both in Coloane.
According to the statement, the vehicle will be parked outside Block 7 of Ip Heng Building in the Seac Pai Van residential neighbourhood between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. today.
Ip Heng Building is a subsidised home-ownership scheme (HOS) estate comprising 10 blocks in the Seac Pai Van public housing neighbourhood, which comprises three HOS estates and one social rental housing estate.
In addition, according to the statement, the mobile blood donation vehicle will also be parked outside The Veranda, the open-air mall of the luxury private residential estate One Oasis, between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday next week.
