The government’s “Business & Associations Platform” was officially launched in a web version and as a mobile app yesterday, and Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) Director Ng Wai Han said that the electronic platform exclusively for enterprises and associations was one of the key platforms to promote the development of e-government in Macau.

According to yesterday’s press conference at the Macau Science Centre in Nape, the platform, featuring functions of “Dedicated zone for associations”, “Renewal of licence”, “One-stop” and “One issue”, is aimed at contributing to promoting the development of the digitalisation of public services for business operators and associations.

In its initial phase, Ng said, the platform provides 78 services frequently used by the public online, such as applying for food and beverage establishment licences, renewal of licences, social and financial data, employee management, management of the associations’ operation and associations’ applications for financial support. The platform aims, Ng stressed, to reform and optimise public service procedures through cross-departmental data interconnection.

Ng promised that her bureau would constantly expand the functions of the platform in line with the concept adopted in the “Macau One Account” of user guidance, so as to provide more high-quality and convenient public services to residents, businesses and associations.

In terms of the four major functions, according to the press conference, the “One-stop” function is a joint approval electronic platform to achieve “one-stop” licensing for food and beverage establishments, through which applicants can submit their requests, check the progress of their applications and receive notifications, at any time and anywhere, via the platform, without the need to visit several public services for procedural purposes, while the “One issue” function boasts integrated services from different public entities to avoid duplicated declarations such as employees leaving or joining companies.

As of the end of last year, the number of Macau’s officially registered associations stood at over 11,700, the press conference noted.

Speaking to the media after the press conference, Identification Services Bureau (DSI) Director Chao Wai Ieng said that with the launch of the “Business & Associations” platform, the “associations” function of the “Macao One Account” would be cancelled.

Representatives of the Macau Chamber of Commerce (ACM), General Union of Neighbourhood Associations (Kai Fong), Women’s General Association of Macau (Fu Luen) and Macau Federation of Trade Unions (Gung Luen) told reporters yesterday they believed that the “Business & Associations Platform” would enhance the effectiveness of local associations’ administrative work, as well as business efficiency.

Meanwhile, the SAFP director told reporters that her bureau will launch later this month a separate electronic platform providing internal management function courses for public entities.
