Integrated resort operator SJM Resorts celebrates the upcoming Year of the Dragon with an array of culinary delicacies from Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) and Grand Lisboa, showcasing Macau’s local culture and creativity.

The Year of the Dragon begins on February 10.

A raft of Chinese New Year (CNY) gift sets includes, according to a recent statement by SJM, a selection of healthy rice puddings and turnip cakes that are made without preservatives or additives by the team of culinary artistes at the Chinese restaurants of Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai and Grand Lisboa in the peninsula, in addition to poon choi (Chinese casserole) and two luxurious gift hampers which are priced, respectively, at 988 or 2,988 patacas and 1,988 or 2,688 patacas.

The statement noted that the three special CNY Gift Sets of the healthy rice pudding set on offer, namely “Blissful Blessings Gift Set”, “Auspicious Wishes Gift Set”, and “Dual Delights Gift Set”, consist of cakes, pudding and tea exclusively from “Chalou” restaurant at Grand Lisboa Palace starting from 368 patacas each.

This year’s CNY gift box, centred around the theme of “Year of the Dragon 2024”, has been designed in collaboration with award-winning local designer Au Chon Hin, which features an embossed dragon bathed in rays of golden sunlight, standing above auspicious clouds – a symbol of good luck and fortune for the lunar year ahead, the statement said, adding that the design also reflects SJM’s commitment to environmental sustainability as it can be reused time and again as a jewellery box.

The “8” Chinese restaurant at Grand Lisboa and the “Palace Garden” restaurant at Grand Lisboa Palace will also prepare their two respective CNY gift boxes, featuring Premium Cane Sugar Cake with Bird’s Nest and Coconut Juice and Turnip Cake with Matsutake flavoured in Fish Broth, as well as Rose and Red Date Rice Pudding with Bird’s Nest or Turnip Cake with Sea Whelk and Preserved Meat, with their respective prices starting from 380 and 418 patacas.

Matsutake is mushroom grown in East Asia.

According to the statement, orders for the collection of CNY cakes, poon choi and hampers are accepted through February 9 and redeemed from next Saturday (January 27). Orders placed before this Thursday this week will enjoy special discounts on some of the most premium products.
