Integrated resort (IR) operator MGM will offer a range of festive menus and activities to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Dragon, which begins on February 10.

According to a recent MGM statement, Imperial Court, which specialises in Lingnan cuisine, at MGM Macau in Nape will serve its guests a Chinese New Year Set Menu featuring seafood and seasonal ingredients such as baked Boston lobster with glutinous rice cake and chanterelle mushroom, as well as the double-boiled abalone soup with dendrobium flower and bamboo pith, while Chún, which specialises in Cantonese cuisine, at MGM COTAI will offer its guests a special festive prix-fixe menu consisting of classic and creative dishes. Both menus start from 7,800 patacas for six persons.

A limited-time Chinese-style afternoon tea set will also be available at the Chún restaurant for guests to enjoy the Sea Odyssey Show under the spectacle roof, the largest free-span gridshell glazed roof recognised by Guinness World Records, the statement said, adding that both the Chún and Imperial Court restaurants will offer two poon choi (“big bowl feast”) options, with prices starting from 1,880 patacas.

The other Chinese and Western restaurants at MGM Macau and MGM COTAI will also serve special menus or festive buffets, according to the statement. For instance, Five Foot Road, which specialises in Sichuan cuisine, will present a series of classic Sichuanese dishes, including traditional double-boiled chicken soup with Chinese herbs and wolfberry, as well as steamed sunflower chicken with pickled chilli, as well as wok-fried glutinous rice with pork belly, sesame paste, and crushed pistachio nuts.

In addition to its wide range of speciality menus, MGM’s two integrated resorts will also present its guests with a raft of celebratory activities, including the God of Fortune and Lion Dance Blessing and a Family Fun Festive Cupcake Workshop, both slated to be held daily between February 10 and February 18.

More details about the celebrations are available on the MGM official website.
