A martial arts zone and a technology themed experience zone were launched yesterday at the Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) in Cotai, aiming to provide members of the public with new “tourism+” experiences.
The zones, entitled the “Martial Arts Arena” and “AI Wonderland”, are located on the second level of the integrated resort.
The Martial Arts Arena comprises seven challenge levels, the majority of which last for around eight minutes, based on “The Water Margin”, one of the four classical novels of Chinese literature, from which virtual versions of martial arts masters are featured across the different stations.
The arena enables visitors to practise Shaolin Kung Fu in an interactive way, integrating innovative technology such as VR (virtual reality) for the experience. An exhibition space called “Introduction to Macau Martial Arts” also showcases the evolution of martial arts, along with the talents of award-winning local martial artists.
AI Wonderland, meanwhile, features interactive games and classes. It will also offer AI classes for children of all ages that will enable them to do things such as learn how to build robots.
In her speech yesterday, SJM Managing Director Daisy Ho Chiu-fung said: “SJM is actively supporting the government’s initiatives by introducing two major thematic attractions to enrich the tourism offerings of Macau, while simultaneously fostering interest in the realms of science and technology within the younger generation”.
Both zones are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the last admission at 7 p.m. More information and ticketing details is available on https://www.grandlisboapalace.com/en/arts-n-events/martial-arts-arena and https://www.grandlisboapalace.com/en/arts-n-events/ai-wonderland
