A grand opening ceremony was held on Friday for the YOHO Treasure Island World Hotel and the YOHO Resorts World Shopping Centre.
The property, which is adjacent to Rotunda de Ferreira do Amaral, combines shopping and hotel segments. The five-star hotel comprises 600 rooms, including Macau’s first Garden Onsen* Suite. Meanwhile, the shopping mall houses various brands, with nearly 90 percent of the shopping centre’s space having been leased already, according to a statement by the event organiser.
The Friday afternoon event, which was attended by a number of guests, also saw the opening and Macau debut of both the French luxury department store Galeries Lafayette, which spans 35,000 sq. ft. (3,251 square metres) and houses over 100 international and niche brands, as well as the Bona International Cineplex.
To celebrate the cineplex’s opening, an event entitled the “Bona Film Group Movie Screening Event” screening eight films by the group, including “Bursting Point”, “The Battle at Lake Changjin”, “Operation Mekong”, and “Flying Swords of Dragon Gate” for free.
Moreover, aside from the launch ceremony of the hotel and shopping centre, the event also saw the opening of the P3 Amaral Pedestrian Tunnel, as well as award ceremonies for a photography contest of the property. A drone show and gala dinner were also held in the evening.
