The Chinese New Year (CNY) Bazaar at Galaxy Macau kicked-off on Thursday in the East Square of the integrated resort in Cotai, with the event lasting through February 8.

The bazaar features over 30 local brands and merchants including Koi Kei Bakery and Pan Kee Dried Seafood, with products on offer including dried goods and auspicious potted plants. This year’s bazaar also features the Gatcha Point Capsule Toy Store, which is introducing exclusive collections to Macau.

Meanwhile, the IR operator is set to launch a raft of festivities for the Lunar New Year. A statement provided during Thursday’s opening ceremony noted that among these are the “Parade of the God of Fortune” during the first five days of the Chinese New Year, dragon-themed workshops for children and appearances by Galaxy Kidz mascot Wavey, the peacock, as well as an evening ride on an open-top bus ride for views of Cotai during the Spring Festival.

The statement added that the 2024 Chinese New Year Calligraphy Exhibition will also showcase award-winning calligraphy by local students and communities.

The statement also highlighted an upcoming exhibition entitled “GENESIS: Contemporary Installation Art Journey”, which will feature art installations by emerging local artists Ng Man Wai, Sou Leng Fong, and Cheong Hoi I. The exhibition will be hosted at GalaxyArt at Galaxy Macau from this Friday, during which an opening ceremony is slated to be held.
