The Lands and Urban Construction Bureau (DSSCU) said in a statement that its officials, in conjunction with officials from several other government entities, repossessed yesterday an illegally occupied plot of land on Estrada do Repouso (鏡湖馬路).

Estrada do Repouso is a one-way street running from near the private Kiang Wu Hospital, past Teatro Alegria (known as Wing Lok Cinema in Cantonese), to Avenida do Almirante Lacerda (提督馬路).

Estrada do Repouso is known in Chinese as Kiang Wu Road.

The plot repossessed yesterday covers an area of merely 76 square metres.

According to the statement, the plot was initially a privately-owned one. As the plot has no heir, the statement said, the plot has been transferred to the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) by court ruling. As a result, the land has become a public plot of land.

Before yesterday’s repossession, the statement said, the plot had been fenced off with a metal board.

According to the statement, various items including a shipping container had been illegally left on the plot.
