The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has said that it will start replanting the roundabout next to the flyover leading to Ka Ho Tunnel in Cotai tomorrow, one of its ongoing projects to improve the city’s public greening landscape.
According to an IAM statement on Friday, the replanting is scheduled to be completed on March 31.
Ka Ho Tunnel, which came into use in December 2021, connects Avenida do Aeroporto (機場大馬路) in east Cotai and the Ka Ho hamlet in northeast Coloane.
The roundabout to be replanted is located next to the flyover connecting Avenida do Aeroporto and Ka Ho Tunnel.
The roundabout, known as Rotunda da Central Térmica de Coloane, is situated near the Lisboeta Macau complex.
The statement said that the current trees, shrubs and other plants on the roundabout are “too homogeneous”, with some of them in a poor condition.
According to the statement, the bureau will grow plants of different varieties and colours on the roundabout with the aim of creating a more vibrant greening landscape with diverse layers.
The statement said that the replanting will enrich the roundabout’s visual experience and create a “seasonal green island landscape” there.
The replanting work will also remove the stunted plants on the roundabout.
