Two men from Taiwan were caught at the airport on Sunday morning for attempting to carry prohibited weapons, a telescopic stick and five stun guns, onto an aircraft, a spokesperson for the Public Security Police (PSP) announced yesterday.

The spokesperson said one of the suspects, surnamed Huang, is an unemployed man in his forties while the other suspect, surnamed Chang, is a businessman in his fifties. The spokesperson said that although the suspects were booked on the same flight the two cases are not related.

According to the spokesperson, when Huang was going through security before departure, a security guard discovered the telescopic stick in Huang’s black golf bag. The guard called the police.

This undated handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows the five stun guns seized by the police from one of the two suspects from Taiwan on Sunday.
