A lumber room of the Luís Gonzaga Gomes Luso-Chinese Secondary School on Avenida de Sidónio Pais caught fire at around midday yesterday, according to a statement by the Fire Services Bureau (CB), which noted that the blaze did not cause any injuries.
Yesterday’s statement said that the fire was believed to have been caused by a short circuit of a power bank, which was charging a telephone in the lumber room when the fire broke out.
No one was injured or suffered any discomfort in the incident, the statement underlined, adding that all the students were evacuated to the playground.
Before the arrival of the firefighters, the blaze had been put out by the school staff with fire extinguishers, according to the statement.
