A burglar opened the doors of a flat in Fai Chi Kei early yesterday morning with the keys which the flat owner had left in the basket of a bicycle parked outside the flat, resulting in a loss of 6,500 patacas, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said.
PJ spokesman Chan Cho Man said during a regular briefing that the female victim, who lives with her husband in the flat in Rua do Comandante João Belo, usually parks her bicycle in the corridor outside her flat with her door keys in the basket.
According to Chan, the victim returned home from work at about 7 p.m. on Monday. After opening the doors, she put the keys in the basket and went into the flat as usual.
