A stamp collection by the Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) recently won the Silver Medal for Group C (countries issuing 70 or more postage stamps per year) in the 18th International Competition Class for issuing postal authorities of Universal Postal Union (UPU) member countries and territories, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.
Held in Bangkok from November 27 to December 2 last year, the contest was jointly organised by UPU and the Zürich-based International Federation of Philately (FIP, Fédération Internationale de Philatélie).
The winning stamp collection’s contents, the statement said, was drawn from CTT-issued stamp products from 2020 to 2023 and is divided into three categories: International Focus, Local Characteristics, and East and West Encounter. The collection won the silver award due to the “appealing design and excellent technical quality of Macau stamps”, according to the statement.
The statement said that winning the award was “a great affirmation and encouragement” for the bureau.
