Renowned Japanese culinary group Kyo Watami recently opened a restaurant at Galaxy Macau in Cotai, offering traditional Japanese skewers and seasonal Japanese cuisine, according to a Wednesday statement from the integrated resort operator.
The statement noted that the restaurant is the group’s first to open in a five-star resort. A majority of the restaurant’s ingredients are sourced directly from Japan.
With over 500 eating places worldwide, Kyo Watami (which directly translated means Hospitality, Harmony, People), is one of the world’s largest well-known Japanese culinary groups.
The statement said that Jumbo Chicken Thigh (128 patacas) is highly recommended, featuring tender grilled chicken thigh from Japan and flamed with whiskey on the table side, topped with a “secret recipe sauce” to enhance the flavour.
Other menu highlights include Yakitori (grilled chicken), daily offerings of seasonal shellfish, popular choices like Thick Cut Ox Tongue Skewer and Cuttlefish tentacles Skewer, and the yakitori chef’s secret recipe Grilled Chicken Mince Skewers (tsukune) (38 patacas), which is available in three flavours, according to the statement. There is also a variety of made-for-order skewers.
Another “must try” is the famous “Ichiya-boshi” (overnight dried fish), while the restaurant’s sashimi assortment is of the “freshest grade”, with ingredients comparable to Japanese fine dining restaurants, the statement added, while Assorted Tempura (268 patacas) has Tiger prawns and soft-shell crabs coated in a thin batter and fried at high temperatures. Sushi, hand rolled sushi, and shabu-shabu is also available.
The Crab Meat with Crab Roe Sushi Roll (148 patacas) features Hokkaido’s Matsuba crab, while an extensive selection of Japanese sake, beer, and speciality cocktails is also available
The restaurant is divided into a bar counter, yakitori counter, and sushi counter, and is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Meanwhile, the statement also said that CHA BEI is presenting its Unlimited Sweet Indulgence buffet for 398 patacas. Terrazza Italian Restaurant and one Michelin-starred chef Marino D’Antonio will also present “The Macallan·Terrazza Michelin Harmony Tasting Dinner”, priced at 1,288 per person and available on March 23.
