The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said yesterday that it will launch a project in May to renovate the open-air spaces outside the Taipa wet market in two phases.
The bureau did not mention when the project is scheduled to be completed.
IAM officials made the remarks during a regular meeting where they listened to opinions and suggestions from residents concerning possible improvements to community municipal facilities in Taipa and Coloane.
Yesterday’s meeting, which was open to the media, was held at the Seac Pai Van Community Complex in Coloane.
The bureau began renovating the Taipa wet market, which is located in Taipa Village, in three phases in October 2022. The renovation was fully completed at the end of last year.
The officials also said yesterday that the bureau completed nine projects to improve municipal facilities in Taipa, Coloane and Cotai between July last year and last month.
The nine projects included renovation of public toilets and the government’s 24-hour self-service centres, according to the officials.
The officials also said that the bureau will start a project at the end of this month to renovate a preserved animal exhibition hall in Seac Pai Van Park.
