The Public Security Police Force (PSP) celebrated its anniversary yesterday, and PSP Commissioner Ng Kam Wa vowed that his force will strictly adhere to the local government’s governance philosophy and overall planning, making every effort to safeguard the prosperity and stability of the community as well as the safety of the public.
Addressing yesterday’s celebratory dinner at The Plaza Restaurant in Zape, Ng expressed his gratitude to all of his colleagues in the force for their dedication and hard work, as well as to their counterparts in the mainland and Hong Kong, various government entities, community associations and media organisations for their concerted efforts, mutual assistance and trust.
Ng said: “Under the leadership of the Secretary for Security and the Unitary Police Service (SPU), the Public Security Police Force is firmly committed to safeguarding national security, continuously assessing and analysing the impact of various social changes on public security, formulating and optimising response strategies and law enforcement deployments in a timely manner, and upholding the law-and-order defence line, striving for the prevention of and fight against unlawful activities.”
According to Ng, in the past year, with the announcement of various development policies by the central government to promote the movement of people between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, the number of visitor arrivals to Macau has rebounded rapidly, with its economy having gradually recovered, and the public security environment having entered a new normal.
The dinner was also attended by Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak and SPU Commissioner-General Leong Man Cheong, among other senior government officials and police offers.
