Integrated resort (IR) operator Galaxy Macau has recently unveiled the second season of Galaxy Macau Artisans of Flavour culinary campaign, themed around “Authentic Flavours from the Heart”.
A Galaxy Macau statement said earlier this week that the initiative is supported by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and supports the government’s “Tourism+” concept.
The statement added that the campaign brings the IR’s award-winning restaurants and artisan chefs together, using authentic ingredients and exquisite culinary skills to recreate and elevate the authentic flavours of classic Chinese cuisines such as Northern, Hunan and Sichuan, as well as Cantonese cuisine, Macanese cuisine, and international cuisines such as Japanese, Thai, and Italian.
The term “Macanese” refers to Macau’s community of mixed Portuguese and Asian descent, and their diaspora.
A well-attended launch banquet was held at CHINA ROUGE at Galaxy Macau in Cotai to celebrate the first season’s highlights, along with the unveiling of the second season, along with culinary delights prepared by the master chef team were presented.
In his speech, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) Integrated Resort Services Senior Director Raymond Yap Yin Min said: “Through this integration project of ‘ Tourism + Gastronomy’, we continue to uphold our commitment to supporting the SAR Government in promoting the diversified development of Macau’s tourism industry, showcasing Macau’s vibrant tourism elements, and highlighting Macau as the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy”.
The statement said that a series of gastronomic promotions will be launched this year, welcoming the opening of several restaurants, and presenting a curated video series where gastronomes from different countries and regions will share the charm of their cuisines, highlight flavours showcased at Galaxy Macau and “the master chefs’ pursuit of ultimate craftsmanship”.
The inaugural video features food critic and CCTV culinary programme host, Beijing-based Dong Jianmin, who focuses on Northern Chinese cuisines. The statement said that Dong will explore Northern Chinese cuisine restaurants at Galaxy Macau, i.e., Blossom Palaces, Bei Shan Lou, and The Noodle Kitchen.
This first chapter has been released on Galaxy’s website and social media platforms, the statement said, while each restaurant is set to introduce classic or seasonal dishes this spring.
