The Housing Bureau (IH) announced yesterday that it has received 6,562 applications in its latest round of submissions for 5,415 subsidised home-ownership scheme (HOS) flats on the Zone A land reclamation area.

The application period of the 5,415 HOS flats, which started on September 27 last year and was initially to run until December 27 last year, had been extended to March 27 this year, i.e., Wednesday this week.

The 5,415 HOS flats, which will be built on five plots of B5, B7, B8, B11 and B12 on Zone A, comprise 1,657 one-bedroom units, 3,216 two-bedroom units and 542 three-bedroom units.

The previous time the government accepted applications for HOS flats was in 2021 – for 5,254 units on five plots on Zone A.

In the previous round in 2021, the government received around 11,000 applications.

The government launched a round of applications in 2019 for 3,011 HOS flats on three plots on Zone A, which drew around 30,000 applications.

The number of HOS flats on the three plots was later raised to 3,017 because of a slightly revised design. Construction of three HOS estates comprising the 3,017 flats is scheduled to be completed later this year.
