Macau Taxi Drivers Mutual Association President Tony Kuok Leong Son yesterday urged the government to consider allowing drivers of black taxis to charge passengers a fee for using their radio taxi service.
Kuok made the comments in an interview with The Macau Post Daily at his association’s office in Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida.
Originally, the 100 “yellow taxis” run by Vang Iek Radio Taxi, which went out of business in November 2014, as well as the city’s black taxis were allowed to provide a radio service – although the black taxis were also allowed to pick up passengers while driving around the city.
