Government-appointed Central Districts Community Service Consultative Council member Ron Lam U Tou called on the government yesterday to draft bus service provider contracts with the city’s three public bus operators in a way that will encourage the companies to increase their rush-hour services.
Lam made the remarks in an interview with The Macau Post Daily yesterday in an office of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (commonly known as Gung Luen) near Praça de Ponte e Horta.
Lam, a current affairs commentator, said that since the government’s current public bus service model came into force in 2011, the service had improved. However, it has been unable to keep up with the rising passenger numbers, Lam was quick to add.
