The Public Security Police Force (PSP) said in a statement yesterday that Portuguese and Singaporean passport holders are able to use the conventional two-gate e-Channels at Macau’s various border checkpoints upon registration, effective from tomorrow.
The statement noted that the categories for eligible groups were extended to “make more effective use of the e-Channels and to enhance the clearance experience of foreign visitors”.
Portuguese and Singapore nationals aged at least 11 can use the e-Channels to enter and exit Macau upon registration, which applicants must complete in person, according to the statement. Their passports must be valid for no less than 90 days.
Registration can be made from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations: Barrier Gate Checkpoint (Departure Office at Departure Hall); Qingmao Checkpoint (Departure Office on 3/F of Departure Hall); Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HKZMB) Checkpoint (Departure Office at Hong Kong-Macao Hall, Hong Kong-Macao Arrival Hall on the ground floor); Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal Checkpoint (Arrival Hall); Taipa Ferry Terminal Checkpoint (Arrival Hall); Macau International Airport Checkpoint (Arrival Hall); and at the Checkpoint of the Macao Port Zone of Hengqin Port (Arrival Hall – Visa Room).
Registration can also be done at the Immigration Building of the Public Security Police (PSP) in Pac On from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can still use the traditional counters for immigration clearance regardless of registration having been completed.
For registration, the statement added, minors aged 11 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, while the registrant’s birth certificate and the parent or guardian’s ID must be presented for registration. A “proof of legal relationship” is also required from guardians.
The PSP said in the statement that it will “maintain close communication with the relevant entities, extend the categories of eligible groups able to use e-Channels, enhance the facilitation for the flow of people, and help boost the new development” of the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
