Macau's 30 casinos produced gross gaming revenue (GGR) of 18.54 billion patacas (US$2.28 billion) in April, a year-on-year growth of 26.0 percent, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has announced today.
However, GGR was down by 4.9 percent month on month.
GGR in the first four months rose 53.7 percent year on year to 75.87 billion patacas.
Macau's government-concessioned gaming industry is run by six rival integrated resort operators - Sands, Galaxy, SJM, Melco, Wynn, and MGM.
In the first quarter, according to the latest available official figures, baccarat generated 85.4 percent of Macau's GGR, or 48.9 billion patacas of 57.3 billion patacas. Roulette produced a mere 0.4 percent of the GGR of local casinos (257 million patacas) in the first three months of the year when the gaming industry offered over a dozen games of chance including the traditional Chinese game of dice known as big-and-small or cussec (2.0 billion patacas) and blackjack (667 million patacas), as well as slot machines (3.2 billion patacas), according to DICJ data.
