Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has recently set up Health Monitoring Stations in the back-of-house areas of its different properties for staff members in support of the Healthy Enterprise Programme organised by the Health Bureau (SSM) and the Macao Healthy City Committee, the integrated resort (IR) operator said in a statement yesterday.

The statement said that the stations feature various health monitoring devices that enable staff to measure their own physical health parameters on site such as height, weight, heart rate, blood pressure and body mass index. The initiative aims to support staff “to better understand their health status and to proactively manage and enhance their well-being”, the statement noted.

A kick-off ceremony has been held recently at Galaxy Macau’s back-of-house area, which was attended by guests including Valerie Wong, Health Promotion Division Chief of the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control of the Health Bureau (SSM) and her team, and GEG management staff. They visited GEG’s staff canteen and work health and safety (WHS) information display boards, while the company also showcased other health-promotion initiatives.

The statement added that GEG has implemented various health-promoting measures for its staff since the Healthy Enterprise Programme was launched such as introducing healthy dishes in its staff canteens to promote low sugar, salt and fat recipes; and encouraging exercise such as stretching during one’s leisure time.

Moreover, the statement said that GEG also shares WHS related information through posters and other channels such as notice boards and TVs in the back-of-house areas, as well as on their internal mobile app “GEG Buzz”.

The statement noted that through the stations and the health-promoting initiatives, the company hopes to “create a healthy and safe workplace for team members and [aims to] encourage them to take the initiative to care and manage their well-being.”
