The Macau Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) is slated to host activities for International Children’s Day on Saturday, June 1 including free rides on cable cars and children’s electric cars, as well as a workshop, the bureau said in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, kids and their parents will be able to take the Guia Hill Cable Car for free, as well as ride children’s electric cars in Montanha Russa Park and Chunambeiro Park, until June 2.
“Montanha Russa” is Portuguese for “rollercoaster”.
The statement noted that the Civic Education Resource Centre will host a “Courtesy Living Children’s Fun Workshop” on June 1, which will feature a “good citizen” puppet theatre, booth games and a colouring activity. To register for the puppet theatre, one can use their “Macao One Account” or call the centre on 2847 1371.
The statement added that the bureau will invite primary school students to join “Taking a Walk through the Streets of Macao – Knowing about Macao” and “IAM Open Sessions”, hoping to deepen students’ “sense of recognition of and belonging to Macau” and also encourage them to take part in their community activities and care about civic affairs, the statement said.
