A delegation of local and foreign journalists conducted in-depth interviews in Xi'an on April 24, fousing on the national civil aerospace industry base in Xi'an, such as Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Group Co., Ltd., Xi'an Zhongke Tianta Technology Co., Ltd. and other leading enterprises in the science and technology industry. Through this visit, the journalists aimed to gain a deeper understanding of Xi'an's sci-tech sector and its development.
First, the journalists visited Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Group Co., Ltd. This company has achieved significant results in resource exploration, environmental monitoring, and other fields with its leading remote sensing technology and application capabilities, providing strong support for China's sustainable development. "Our biggest advantage is that we can access data that covers the world at any time," Director Lai Bailian, the company's director and Party secretary, pointed out.
As an important place for the national aerospace industry, this base has driven the rapid development of China's aerospace industry with its strong research and development capabilities and innovative sp
irit. In addition, space remote sensing technology can also benefit the public. “Last year, we sent text messages warning of five landslides, reducing the number of casualties by more than 100 people.”.
As a veteran employee who has been in the industry for 30 years, Lai has accumulated a deep understanding of the rapid development of the nation's high-tech development. "From only helping government departments with surveying and mapping to now providing geographic information assistance for various industries, technology has truly changed and promoted the development of the industry", he said. There are experts and scholars in China who are constantly studying advanced hardware technology from foreign countries, such as Li Xiaowen, a former academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a leading figure in the field of remote sensing technology in China. However, there is still a gap that needs to be filled between China and developed countries in terms of hardware equipment. Nowadays, a large part of China's remote sensing equipment relies on imports, Lai acknowledged, adding: "Tons pots and pans cannot be exchanged for imported technology equipment purchased for 16 million yuan."
Later, the reporters paid a fact-finding visit to Xi'an Zhongke Tianta Technology Co., Ltd., which focuses on intelligent manufacturing and the industrial Internet. Zhongke Tianta is a startup founded in 2018 and has been around for 6 years. Internationally, Musk is focused on the aerospace industry, while domestically, Zhongke Tianta follows the international footsteps and develops its own market. There are three types of products by Zhongke Tianta - testing and operation control software products, carbon neutrality business, and aerospace system integration. However, similar to Lai's company, "We are decades away from the international level", General Manager Zeng Weigang admitted.
At Xi'an Benchmark Fangzhong Architectural Design Co., Ltd., the journalists experienced the charm of modern architectural design. The company has created a raft of high-quality architectural works with its unique design philosophy and exquisite design skills, adding new colors to the appearance of the city, such as Xi'an Qujiang Creative Valley, Momo Park, SKP, etc.
Chief Designer Bo Guangjian also talked about the profound impact of AI on the construction industry. Previously, it took five days to draw up blueprints, but now it only takes 10 seconds to generate a building model, which is beneficial for solving many problems and reducing the cost of later modifications. This undoubtedly has a huge impact on the industry, he said, adding: "AI will reduce the number of industry practitioners, but at the same time, it will allow truly professional and passionate talents to stay, which is conducive to driving the iteration and evolution of the entire industry."
Currently, due to the considerable demand for both mental and physical resources, the most challenging issue in the industry is the shortage of talent. For talents who love to work in the construction industry, Bo has three suggestions ——first, go and see more (some universities offer "travel" as a compulsory course); 2、Read more miscellaneous materials (the industry faces customers with different needs and industries); 3、Reseach shows that the success rate is higher for students who persist, especially those who are highly sensitive and insightful.
Finally, the reporters arrived at Xi'an Xingchen Cloud Computing Co., Ltd. This company has profound technical accumulation and practical experience in cloud computing, digital marketing, and other fields, providing efficient and stable cloud services to many local enterprises in Shaanxi, such as Xifeng Wine and Red Star Soft Fragrant Crisp.
According to co-founder and General Manager Zhan Chen, the company's investment in research and development accounts for 5 percent of the total output value. At present, Xingchen Cloud Computing Company has no overseas business yet, but, Zhan said, it is engaged in international exchanges to advance its knowledge, hoping to one day officially connect with the international community. Perhaps it is this tireless spirit of progress that has created a group of excellent local enterprises in Shaanxi.
This journalists' fact-finding tour not only showcased the strong strength and unique charm of Xi'an's technology industry, but also further enhances Xi'an's clout and reputation both domestically and internationally.
One can expect the sci-tech industry in Xi'an to keep its rapid development momentum, making even greater contributions to China's technological innovation and economic and social development.
