The University of Macau (UM) said in a recent statement that its Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) held its “FST Graduation Award Ceremony & Project Exhibition” last Friday, which showcased 50 graduation projects and results by the faculty’s undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Visiting industry representatives from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) appreciated the students’ work at the event, which showcased the projects and results by 30 undergraduate students and 15 master’s degree students in the faculty’s six departments, the statement noted. The exhibition covered a variety of areas including ocean monitoring and artificial intelligence (AI), the statement said.

Meanwhile, the event also saw the presentation of the “Best Master’s Student Awards” to FST master’s degree students, along with certificates to the faculty’s long-term internship partners.

FST Dean Xu Cheng-Zhong said in his speech that over the years, the faculty’s final year project exhibition has demonstrated the successful application of classroom research outcomes in the industry, and expanded cooperation between enterprises and UM.

Over 100 attendees comprising industry representatives, business executives, government officials, professors and students from the GBA visited the exhibition.
