Activities set for China Cultural, Heritage Day

A raft of activities will be hosted by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) throughout the month for the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day”.

In a statement on Friday, the bureau said that the Guia Lighthouse will be open to members of the public for free this coming weekend from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Moreover, the Macao Museum will also have free admission from Saturday through Tuesday. 

The statement also noted that workshops such as the “Seal Carving Workshop” at the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum and the “Bamboo Lamp Experience Workshop” at the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory, are offered. There are also workshops for families or children including the “Hac Sa Archaeological Guided Tour and Family Workshop” at the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History and the “World Heritage Cloth Book Workshop for Families” at the Mandarin’s House.

Meanwhile, at weekends between this Saturday and June 30, as well as on the Dragon Boat Festival holiday on June 10, members of the public can join free sessions in the “Visiting the Ruins of St. Paul’s in Space and Time – Exhibition of Virtual Reality at the Ruins of St. Paul’s”.

The free “Guided Tour of the Mount Fortress” and “Guided Family Tour of the Mount Fortress” will also be held this coming Saturday and Sunday at Mount Fortress, while there will also be guided tours from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the The House of Macao Literature, among other heritage sites during weekends, according to the statement.

Registration for all these activities can be made via the Macao One Account on activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5/activity-list-web. A lucky draw will be held if the number of participants exceeds the maximum capacity, the statement said.
