The Cultural Development Fund is launching two subsidy schemes for local cultural activities and the fashion industry, which can be applied for from today to July 12, the government-run fund said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the “2024 Cultural Performances – Brand Promoting Funding Scheme” aims to support local performance and associations to carry out commercial performances outside Macau, including traditional Chinese opera, drama, dance, and music.
Applicants must have held at least three commercial performances outside Macau, each of which lasted at least 60 minutes, and the performance venue must have had at least 100 seats available for ticket sales, the statement said.
The funding will cover up to 50 percent of the proposed projects’ budget, capped at 800,000 patacas, the statement said, noting that the subsidies will only be granted to no more than 10 applicants.
Meanwhile, the statement underlined, the “12th Fashion Design Prototype Production Subsidy Programme” aims to encourage local fashion design research, development and innovation, push fashion designers to formulate feasible marketing plans, and to promote the development of commercial activities or participation in fashion exhibitions and sales at home and abroad, so as to enhance their visibility and market competitiveness.
The statement said that the applicants can both be individuals or duos holding Macau ID cards, with no less than eight pieces of original work never released before. The applicants must also have participated in at least one fashion promotion activity.
The local fashion promotion programme will grant a maximum of eight subsidies, of no more than 180,000 patacas each.
Interested individuals or entities can apply for the subsidies through the fund’s website at www.fdc.gov.mo, the statement said. For more enquiries, members of the public can call the fund on 8985 0834 during office hours or send an email to dgaf@fdc.gov.mo.
