A 27-year-old female gambler from the mainland stole gambling chips worth HK$290,000 from a couple – also from the mainland – in a guestroom of a casino-hotel on Wednesday, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference yesterday.
According to Lei, the suspect surnamed Huang is from Guangdong province.
Lei said the couple came to Macau and checked into a guestroom of a hotel in the city centre last Friday, when they first met Huang in the hotel’s casino. Since then the couple and Huang had stayed in touch.
