The Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) and the Asian IR Expo kicked off at The Venetian Macao yesterday, with the joint event set to welcome over 8,000 industry professionals from 80 countries and regions during its three-day period.

The expo is organised by RX (Reed Exhibitions) and presented by the American Gaming Association (AGA). G2E Asia, which marks its 15th anniversary, offers a platform “driving business diversification and gaining expert insights into Macau’s latest economic development”, according to a statement provided at the event, while the Asian IR Expo, launched last year, is a growing platform for integrated resorts, according to the organiser.

The events feature conferences and summits with over 30 sessions with more than 100 speakers, along with panel discussions and networking sessions, among others. There are also over 100 exhibitors participating in the joint exhibition.

In his remarks at yesterday’s opening ceremony, RX (Reed Exhibitions) APAC President Chien Ee Yeh noted: “Our joint exhibition features over a hundred industry-leading exhibitors, showcasing cutting edge technology and solutions across a broad range of segments”, while there are also two specialised areas: the Sports and Entertainment Zone and the Technology Zone and Tech Talk Stage, which highlights emerging brands.

Prior to the opening ceremony, AGA President and CEO Bill Miller delivered a keynote address, during which he noted: “We are meeting today at a time of global strength in our industry. Despite economic uncertainty, high interest rates around the globe and dynamic geopolitical environments, gaming’s performance remains steady. It’s a testament to this industry’s ability to deliver world-class experiences that cannot be matched anywhere else”.

“In Asia, the post-COVID 19 recovery might have started more slowly, but it is building tremendous momentum. Here in Macau, gross gaming revenues are running at about 75 percent”, Miller added.

He also noted: “In Singapore, we’re seeing a resurgence of visitors and in business volume. Meanwhile, the Philippines has emerged as one of the fastest-growing gaming markets in the Asia-Pacific region. While existing markets are leaning into recovery, the industry is also developing new markets and laying the foundation for the next wave of growth”.
