A collective exhibition is currently on at Casa de Vidro (“Glass House”) in Praça do Tap Seac, presenting works by a number of artists centred around Portuguese sardines.

On display until June 30, the exhibition, titled “Portuguese Sardines”, organised by Casa de Portugal Em Macau (“Portugal’s House in Macau”) displays the works of 32 artists, which comprises students who attended workshops at its “School of Arts and Crafts” alongside local and foreign artists, according to a recent CPM statement.

The exhibition, which is sponsored by the public Macau Foundation (FM), is held as a part of the “June, Month of Portugal” celebrations in Macau, and it is also part of the festivities during the traditional Portuguese Arraial de Santo António (“Saint Anthony’s Fair”), according to the statement.

The fair is celebrated in honour of Saint Anthony of Padua, a Catholic saint who is the patron saint of Lisbon and is highly revered throughout Portugal. The event typically takes place around the Feast of Saint Anthony, which is celebrated on June 13.

Those visiting the exhibition will be able to view works created using a number of mediums such as jewellery, mixed media, ceramics, recycled materials found on the beach, tilework, creative sewing, digital art, glass fusion and porcelain painting, the statement said.

The exhibition is located on the upper floor of the Glass House and one can visit it daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more details, one can visit the “CPM - Casa de Portugal em Macau” Facebook page.
