The Studio City Cinema is scheduled to have its grand opening on June 26, with the cinema complex, which has 770 seats across nine halls, having the first Dolby Cinema in both Macau and Hong Kong, integrated resort (IR) operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment announced in a statement earlier this week.
The nine-house cineplex also includes five VIP suites and a screening house with “exclusively paired seating”, according to the statement.
The statement noted that the largest cinema in the complex is the Dolby Cinema, which comprises 338 seats and combines “the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos and the remarkable picture of Dolby Vision” in a Dolby-designed cinema. The other cinemas also have features such as the RealLaser 4K projection, with three cinemas supporting Dolby Atmos, while a 126-seat hall also features 48 MX4D seats.
Kevin Benning Senior Vice President, Property General Manager of Studio City, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, was quoted by the statement as saying: “The new movie theatre destination will complement Studio City’s collection of incredibly diverse and cosmopolitan contemporary leisure and lifestyle experiences”.
A fact sheet provided by the integrated resort notes that the cinema, after its grand opening, is set to operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. during weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. during weekends and public holidays.
