Nine male mainlanders in their 30s were taken to a police station on Saturday after a free-for-all at an entrance to Studio City in Cotai near Estrada Flor de Lótus, the Public Security Police (PSP) told local media on Saturday.
According to the police, the fight broke out at around 4 p.m. on Saturday, when nine men got into a physical altercation. The on-site police officers responded quickly after the fight broke out, and called for back-up, the police said, adding that the back-up officers used batons and shields to separate and subdue the individuals involved in the fight.
One man involved in the fight sustained injuries and was taken to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre, the police said, adding that he was conscious and in a stable condition on Saturday.
A preliminary investigation suggests the incident involved two groups, one of four people and the other comprising five people, and the police told the local media they believe the dispute stemmed from a financial disagreement that escalated into violence.
The nine mainlanders were taken to a police station for further investigation.
