Galaxy Macau unveiled on Friday an exhibition entitled “Eggspression - An Immersive Art Experience”, which features installations created by Dutch public installation artist Henk Hofstra and “The Egg House” team from New York.

The exhibition at the Cotai property is split into two parts.

The first is Hofstra’s large-scale installation titled “Eggs Fall from the Sky”. Usually exhibited outdoors, this exhibition marks the first time that the artist is showcasing his fried egg installation indoors, with the works this time displayed at the Galaxy Promenade and GalaxyArt.

During his speech at Friday’s opening ceremony, the Dutch artist said: “All my projects have something to do with how we see things, what is happening, where it came from, what we do and what we do with our planet”.

He added that his eggs in his egg project represent two meanings, which are the beginning of life, while fried eggs also show the situation of global warming. “Nowadays with global warming, we can fry an egg on the streets, on the roads and squares, everywhere”.

“So let us think about it and let’s stop that. Let’s think about each other, think about the people we love, think about our neighbours, think about other countries and work together for a better and beautiful world full of love. And let us artists tell it everywhere”, Hofstra added.

Moreover, on the sidelines of the opening event, Hofstra also told reporters that the works were also a “friendly way” to generate attention for global warming. “I think if you do it in a friendly way, it will take a little bit longer, but it will be better, it [the impact] will be heavier”, Hofstra said.

Hofstra also created “Loving Birds” for the exhibition.

Meanwhile, the second part of the exhibition entitled “The Egg House” was created by Sense Creation Inc. founder Biubiu Xu together with a group of young artists and designers from New York.

This thematic installation exhibition, which first debuted in New York in 2018 and has toured different cities, has egg elements blended into the foyer, living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, offering an interactive experience for visitors.

The Egg House also features Ellis, an egg whose name “evokes the whimsical story of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, a Galaxy Macau statement on Friday said.

The free-admission exhibition is on until October 7 and is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
