The 21st “TDM – Best of the Pop” organised by public broadcaster TDM was held at the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) on Friday, with local singer Elisa Chan I Lei winning the Favourite Song Gold Award, Best Producer Award, Best Arrangement Award and Favourite Song Award with her song “Desire 404（沒有慾望的人類）”.
The song’s composer and lyricist is Elisa Chan, the arrangers are Eugene Lei and Dennis Wan, and producers are Elisa Chan, Akitsugu Fukushima, Eugene Lei and Dennis Wan.
This year’s “Best of the Pop” edition attracted 51 qualified entries produced by more than 160 singers and production team members – pop songs, which competed for 22 prizes and cash prizes amounting to over 200,000 patacas.
The awards include 12 Favourite Songs Award, Favourite Song Gold Award, Best Composer, Best Lyricist Award, Best Arrangement Award, Best Producer Award and Fans’ Favourite Song Award.
The “Best Positive Energy Award” and the “Best Online Popularity and Marketing Award” were also introduced to recognise outstanding works that have added positive energy to the society and created a positive impact on the internet, TDM reported.
Macau TV show producer Rony Chan Kuok Wai said on the sidelines of the event that the production this year was bold and innovative in its style, and at the same time spread a lot of positive messages.
Chan said he hoped to promote local music through the production of short videos on different social media, as well as through different platforms with the mainland and international media, to bring Macau’s music and related programmes to more places.
Favourite Song Gold Award winner Elisa Chan said she didn’t think it’s difficult to produce music nowadays, as musicians could always learn to produce music through different platforms and channels.
Elisa Chan added that there are many music creators in Macau who can cooperate with and learn from each other, adding that she encourages young music lovers to cooperate with their friends to make music.
