The Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home association, in conjunction with the Macau Animation, Comic and Toy Artistic and Cultural Exchanges Promote Association, launched on Saturday the Responsible Gambling Art Exhibition, showcasing gamblers’ spiritual connection and awareness of responsible gambling through 30 artworks featuring the theme of responsible gambling, jointly produced by local gambling disorder prevention entities and local artists.

The exhibition featuring a combination of gambling disorder prevention messages through comic art opened on Saturday afternoon at 10 Fantasia, which opens daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Mondays. The exhibition, with free admission, runs through August 31.

“Responsible Gambling”, the exhibition’s information board underlines, occurs in a properly regulated environment where one’s involvement in gambling activities brings no harm to oneself, family members, friends, other gamblers, or casino staff; nor does it lead to negative consequences for the local community and residents.

In a speech at the opening ceremony, Pak Kin Pong, supervisor of the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre,  said that the healthy and sustainable development of the gaming industry was the cornerstone of ensuring the employment and development rights of gaming sector employees, and that minimising the negative impacts brought by engaging in games of chance was one of the most important parts of the process, adding he hoped that residents and tourists appreciating the artworks would be able to gain a correct and rational understanding of the gaming activities, and, consequently, cultivate self-discipline when gambling.

Thirty artworks are on display, with topics including educating children on the habit of saving money, gambling myths, and the dilemma of losing large amounts by winning small amounts of money while gambling over a long period of time, with the aim of attracting more young people to pay attention to correct gambling and entertainment concepts through light-hearted and interesting comic art.
