The Judiciary Police (PJ) received a report from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) and the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday at 5:23 a.m. stating that a man committed suicide by hanging himself in a flat in Rua Um do Bairro Iao Hon, the Judiciary Police said in a statement.
The deceased was a middle-aged non local male, the statement said.
According to the man’s roommate, the man was seen going to his bedroom alone to rest and there was nothing unusual at 3 a.m. yesterday. However, when the roommate attempted to open the toilet door at around 5 a.m., the roommate discovered that he had hanged himself in the bathroom. The roommate then reported the case to the police.
After examining the body, no other suspicious injuries were found, and no suicide note was discovered. The statement said that a post-mortem examination will be performed.
