Members of the government-appointed Urban Planning Council yesterday asked the government to provide more detailed information on its plans for the construction of government buildings in two land reclamation areas known as Zone B and Zone E1.

Yesterday’s regular meeting of the council, chaired by Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario, was held at the Transport Bureau (DSAT).

Zone B lies off the southern coast of the peninsula, from Macau Tower to the Macau Science Centre. The part from Macau Tower to where the Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge (commonly known as Old Bridge) begins is called the western part of Zone B, while the part east of the bridge to the Macau Science Centre is called the eastern part.

Zone E1 lies off the northern coast of Taipa between Friendship Bridge and Pac On Ferry Terminal.

In yesterday’s meeting, the government presented its plans to construct judicial buildings in the eastern part of Zone B and facilities for the Public Security Forces in the eastern part of Zone E1.
