Lawmaker slams govt for ‘breaking’ pledge of minimum wage in 2019

Lawmaker-cum-unionist Kwan Tsui Hang slammed the government yesterday for appearing to fail to keep its promise that a statutory minimum wage for all workers will finally be implemented in 2019.

Kwan made the remarks in a WhatsApp interview with The Macau Post Daily about the government’s remarks last week on the matter.

On Wednesday last week, Secretary for Economy and Finance Lionel Leong Vai Tac declined to say whether the government would keep its promise that the city’s law on a statutory minimum wage for all workers will finally be implemented in 2019.
