GEG holds 3rd module of ‘Behind the Scenes of Star Cuisine’ Workshop

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) said in a statement that it has recently held its third and final module of its “Behind the Scenes of Star Cuisine” Workshop Series, which was on the topic of food safety in the supply chain.

Focused on supply chain management, the third module was hosted at the Galaxy International Convention Centre (GICC) in Cotai. Food ingredient procurement and quality maintenance were among the topics discussed, according to the statement.

The integrated resort (IR) operator noted that the event was attended by Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO)Training and Quality Management Department Chief Doris Leong (梁美彩) and her team, along with the Municipal Affairs Bureau’s (IAM) Department of Food Safety team.

The statement pointed out that GEG Vice President of Procurement William Lau introduced GEG’s criteria for quality monitoring and supplier assessment for food procurement, while GEG Vice President of Warehousing Ernest The discussed the stringent logistics management and monitoring processes implemented during food delivery and storage, as well as how these measures were designed to ensure that all ingredients used within GEG’s properties comply with international health and safety standards, protect the well-being of guests and staff, and emphasise the company’s commitment to upholding food safety from the source.

Nam Kwong Kok Fong Distribution and Transportation Limited Deputy General Manager Xiong Qian also presented the company’s food safety framework and business model, as well as its partnership with GEG and other IRs.

Moreover, held after the positive feedback in the second module, a guided tour of the Central Production Kitchen, a leading facility among Asia’s integrated resorts, for around 30 representatives from Guangdong Province’s F&B industry was also held. The delegation was arranged by the Municipal Affairs Bureau and Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation.

During the visit, the delegation also participated in discussions on food safety management and operational efficiency, the statement added.

The entire workshop series had over 600 representatives from the local tourism and F&B sectors, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and members from GEG’s suppliers and various relevant departments, receiving positive feedback from the local related industries, the statement said.
