The Londoner Macao said in a statement on Sunday that Hong Kong singer-songwriter Hins Cheung King-hin set “an unprecedented record” in Macau by performing 31 shows across two concert series at the integrated resort’s 6,000 seat The Londoner Arena in less than 12 months.

The two well-received and sold-out tours are “The Prime Classics Hins Cheung Live” and “Dahlia Blossom Hins Cheung The Prime Classics Live 2024”. The statement was issued after another successful concert at the state-of-the-art arena.

The statement noted that Cheung, 43, is one of the most accomplished singer-songwriters in Cantopop, and has over 20 years of industry experience. The singer-songwriter, who has had numerous radio pop chart-topping hits, broke his personal performance record, as well as “established a new benchmark for the most concerts by an artiste within a year” in Macau, the statement noted.

The statement said that a total of 171,350 tickets were sold, while fans from Macau, Hong Kong, mainland China, Southeast Asia, North America and Europe were among the crowd. With its success, the statement said that four more concerts will be held on January 11-12 and 17-18 as the grand finale of Cheung’s The Londoner Arena residency.

On the record-breaking concert run, Sands China Regional Vice President of Entertainment David Baxley was quoted by the statement as saying: “This milestone once again demonstrates our resolve to bring the world’s best entertainment to Macau, providing residents and visitors with unforgettable experiences”

Baxley added that the company was committed to supporting the local government’s economic diversification policy and “the growth of the ‘concert economy’, which can be a significant booster for the local economy”.
