A male non-resident worker (NRW) from the mainland has been arrested for drunk driving, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Cheong Im Sim said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The suspect surnamed Chen, who is in his fifties, told the police that he’s a florist.
According to Cheong, around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, police officers on duty in Rua de Luís Gonzaga Gomes (高美士街) noticed Chen riding his motorcycle erratically. Upon intercepting him, they found him to be reeking of alcohol. A breathalyser test revealed his blood alcohol content to be 1.6 grams per litre.
Under questioning, he admitted to consuming alcohol the previous night while dining in Zape.
Chen’s case has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Officer (MP) where he faces a drunk driving charge.
