SJM Resorts said in a Wednesday statement that it earned top honours at the “Award Ceremony for Catering Occupational Safety and Health Awarding Scheme 2024”, with the integrated resort operator and six of its restaurants receiving 15 awards in its first year of participating.
The awards programme was organised by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) in partnership with other government entities, trade associations, labour unions, and occupational safety and health (OSH) organisations, according to the statement.
The statement said that Mesa by José Avillez at Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) received the “Best OSH Restaurant” Grand Gold and Gold Awards, while its Head Chef Herlander Fernandes won the “Outstanding Safety Performance Management” Gold Award.
Moreover, the two other GLP restaurants that won awards are Palace Garden, which won “Best OSH Restaurant Gold Award” and “Outstanding Safety Performance Management Silver Award”, and Chalou, which earned the “Best OSH Restaurant Silver Award” and “Outstanding Safety Performance Management Merit Award”
Meanwhile, at Grand Lisboa, Don Alfonso 1890 won both the “Best OSH Restaurant Silver Award” and “Outstanding Safety Performance Management Merit Award”; The Kitchen received the “Best OSH Restaurant Silver Award” and “Outstanding Safety Performance Management Merit Award”; while the Round-The-Clock Coffee Shop won the “Best OSH Restaurant Silver Award” and “Outstanding Safety Performance Management Merit Award”.
Lastly, SJM Resorts earned two “OSH Improvement Items Silver Award”.
