The “Melco Style Presents: 2024 UIM Macao Grand Prix MotoSurf World Championship Finale” concluded on Sunday, with the women’s category champion Eliška Matoušková, 16, from the Czech Republic becoming the first official qualifier of the 2025 Chengdu World Games, according to a Melco Resorts & Entertainment statement last night.
A celebration dinner was held at City of Dreams (COD) in Cotai on Sunday.
The three-day MotoSurf* event marked the Macau debut of the MotoSurf World Championship and brought together over 120 racers from 22 countries and regions to compete at Hac Sa Beach. It was presented by the integrated resort operator in conjunction with the Macau MotoSurf Association (MMSA) and co-presented by the Monaco-based Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) and Wuling Technology Ltd.
MotoSurf will represent the UIM for the first time at the 12th edition of the World Games in Chengdu in August 2025, marking powerboating’s debut in The World Games, according to the statement.
Apart from the main event, Melco and MMSA also co-hosted a workshop at Hac Sa Beach that introduced the sport to local youngsters, which was facilitated by YMCA Macau, according to the statement. Participants also had a chance to join a MotoSurf Trail.
*MotoSurf, according the MotoSurf Nation website, is a contraction of “Motorised Surfboard”.
