A local man has been arrested for drunk driving, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Chi Weng said at a press conference yesterday.
The man surnamed Chun is in his thirties. He is a salesman.
According to Wong, a resident reported to the police on Tuesday night that a vehicle was obstructing traffic on Rua Nova a Guia (東望洋新街). Upon arrival, the police discovered two cars legally parked next to Chun’s car that had been damaged, with Chun asleep in his vehicle.
A breathalyser test showed that his alcohol concentration was 1.38 grams of alcohol per litre of blood.
Under questioning, he confessed to having consumed alcohol earlier that day in Patane (沙梨頭) district. After he crashed into the two vehicles, he thought that the car had broken down and could not be driven.
Chun has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a drunk-driving charge, according to Wong.
