Photographs of past and present-day Macau are on display at an exhibition titled “Nostalgia photo exhibition – We grew up with Macau” at the private M8 Gallery, allowing nostalgic exhibitiongoers and those curious to see glimpses of the city’s past to appreciate them until February 15.
Situated on the B3 level of the recently opened M8 mall, which is a short walk up Travessa do Roquete (羅結地巷) from Largo do Senado, the gallery’s walls not only show pictures of Macau in different eras, but the people who grew up and lived in the city as well.
According to a statement on the M8 website, the exhibition is organised by the mall in conjunction with the Macau Digital Photography Association, with works by its members on display. The images of different eras, the statement noted, enable exhibition visitors to “experience the transformations and developments between the photographers and Macau across various times”.
Two different eras of Fai Chi Kei district, old photos, and adults recreating poses that they did when they were younger in certain areas around the city, and scenes of familiar places are among those that the public will be able to scrutinise. Moreover, four enlarged old photographs by late photographer Lei Lok Tin are also on display.
Those interested may visit the free-admission gallery from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. For more details, one can visit https://www.m8macau.com/en/
